Boerenbridge, or Chinese Pooping, is a captivating card game where players predict their score for each round. The game starts with a set number of cards dealt to each player. Players sequentially bid, stating their anticipated number of "strokes" (points). The highest bidder chooses the trump suit.
A crucial rule: the last bidder (the dealer) cannot bid a number that would make the total strokes equal the number of cards dealt. For example, in a round with 7 cards per player, if bids are 0, 3, and 2, the dealer cannot bid 2 (0 + 3 + 2 + 2 = 7).
The game progresses through rounds, increasing the number of cards dealt per player (1, 2, 3, and so on) until a maximum is reached (depending on the number of players; for five players, the maximum is 10 cards). Then, the number of cards decreases again until the final round with one card per player. The player with the highest total score at the end wins.
