Lexica
Lexica: A fast-paced word game challenging you to uncover hidden words within a time-constrained grid of random letters. Players are given 3 to 30 minutes to discover as many words as possible.
Key features include:
- Access to multiple international dictionaries boasting millions of words.
- Engaging multiplayer mode: Challenge friends via SMS, email, and other methods.
- Highly customizable gameplay:
- Board sizes: 4x4, 5x5, and 6x6 grids.
- Adjustable game durations.
- Diverse scoring systems.
Lexica remains completely free to play. However, donations are welcome to support ongoing development. This game is a continuation of the previously unmaintained Lexic project.
Recent Updates (Version 3.12.0 - February 18, 2024):
Significant enhancements to the French dictionary, thanks to contributions from @mccoys:
- Enhanced board generation: Letter probabilities are now dynamically adjusted based on their frequency within the French dictionary.
- Removal of less frequent letters: The letters à, ö, ü, and ë have been removed due to their infrequent appearance (less than 50 words each, mostly in loanwords).
- Improved Q placement: The letter Q is now always followed by U.
