Adopt Adorable Pets in Stardew Valley: Tips for Pet Lovers
Enrich your Stardew Valley farm with multiple adorable animal companions! This guide details how to acquire more than one pet, expanding your farm's charm and adding a new layer of in-game interaction.

Unlocking Multiple Pets
- Daily Watering: Ensure your pet's bowl is full daily using your Watering Can (except on rainy/snowy days).
- Daily Petting: Interact with your pet daily to see a heart appear above its head.
- Friendship Meter: Monitor your pet's friendship level via the "Animals" tab in the pause menu.
Once the friendship meter is full, Marnie will send you a letter, notifying you of the opportunity to adopt more pets. If you didn't adopt a pet in your first year, this letter arrives at the start of Year 2.
Adopting Multiple Pets
You'll find a selection of 12 Pet Licenses: five cat variations, five dog variations, and two turtle types. Each license has a cost:
