Monster Hunter Wilds Hirabami Boss Fight Guide
----------------------------------------------Known Habitats: Iceshard Cliffs
Breakable Parts: Head and Tail
Recommended Elemental Attack: Fire
Effective Status Effects: Poison (3x), Sleep (3x), Paralysis (2x), Blastblight (2x), Stun (2x), Exhaust (2x)
Effective Items: Pitfall Trap, Shock Trap, Flash Pod
Bring Large Dung Pods
The Hirabami, unlike many solitary monsters, prefers the company of its own kind, making this a challenging group fight. Your best bet? Large Dung Pods. These will disperse the pack, allowing you to tackle them one at a time.
Use Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger Ammo
Hirabami's aerial prowess makes this fight particularly tricky for melee users. Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger ammo is your answer. If you're short on ammo, severing the Hirabami's tail yields a Tail Claw Shard, which can be crafted into this crucial ammo.
Utilize Environmental Traps
The Iceshard Cliffs arena offers environmental advantages. Ice Spikes, Floating Rubble, and Brittle Ice Pillars can be strategically deployed to stun and damage the Hirabami, especially when targeting its head.
Aim for the Head
The head remains the optimal target, though the Hirabami's aerial antics present a challenge. Ranged weapons have a clear advantage, while melee users should focus on attacks to the neck when the creature descends.
Watch the Tail
The Hirabami’s unpredictable attacks—bites, spit, and devastating dive attacks—require constant vigilance. While you should maintain mobility when targeted, be wary of its powerful tail swipe.

How to Capture Hirabami in Monster Hunter Wilds
To capture a Hirabami, reduce its health to 20% or less (indicated by a skull icon on the minimap). Set a Pitfall or Shock Trap, then quickly use a Tranquilizer before it escapes. While capturing yields a guaranteed reward, it reduces the chance of obtaining extra materials from weak point hits.
Mastering the Hirabami fight involves using Large Dung Pods, leveraging environmental traps, and understanding its attack patterns. Don't hesitate to utilize the SOS feature for assistance. Good hunting!
Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
