Crusader Kings 3 Devs Share Initial Insights on Nomad-Themed DLC
Paradox Interactive has revealed initial details about their upcoming Crusader Kings 3 expansion, centered around nomadic rulers. This DLC introduces a novel governance system specifically designed for nomadic peoples, incorporating a new currency: "herd." This "herd" currency will directly influence a ruler's authority, significantly impacting military strength, cavalry unit composition, relationships with vassals, and other core gameplay mechanics.
The nomadic lifestyle necessitates constant movement. A chieftain's migrations will be dynamically influenced by various factors, requiring them to either negotiate peacefully with settled populations or forcibly displace them.
Furthermore, players will manage transportable yurts, similar to the adventurer's camp mechanic. These yurts can be upgraded with various components, providing strategic advantages.
The expansion will also feature iconic yurt towns that nomadic rulers will carry with them, mirroring the functionality of adventurer camps. These mobile settlements can be upgraded with additional structures, each offering unique benefits.
