Halo Infinite's competitive scene is getting a boost with the upcoming release of S&D Extraction, a new game mode slated for 2025. While Halo Infinite might have taken a backseat to other titles recently, this strategic addition promises to reinvigorate the player base.
Inspired by Counter-Strike's core gameplay, S&D Extraction puts a unique spin on the classic bomb defusal formula. Two teams of four players face off: attackers aiming to plant a device, and defenders striving to prevent it. Teams swap roles after each round, with the first to six round wins claiming victory.
A key element is the robust economic system. Players earn in-game currency by completing objectives, which they then use to purchase equipment at the start of each round. Pricing is dynamic, fluctuating based on player performance, and all gear resets at the end of each round. Expect a tiered pricing structure: cheaper items early, more expensive options as the match progresses, and potentially top-tier gear for those who strategically save their earnings. Respawning after elimination will also be a purchasable option.
