Destiny Child is Making a Comeback as an Idle RPG Soon!
Destiny Child is Reborn: A New Idle RPG Experience
Destiny Child, the popular mobile game initially released in 2016, is making a triumphant return. After its September 2023 "memorial" closure, Com2uS has partnered with ShiftUp to develop a brand-new iteration of the game. This time, players can expect an idle RPG experience, spearheaded by Com2uS's subsidiary, Tiki Taka Studio, known for titles like the tactical RPG, Arcana Tactics.
A Fresh Perspective
While retaining the beloved aesthetic of the original, including its charming 2D characters and emotional core, the new Destiny Child will feature entirely revamped game mechanics. Com2uS aims to reimagine the experience from a fresh perspective, offering a unique gameplay loop for both veteran and new players.
Revisiting the Memorial
The original Destiny Child, celebrated for its captivating real-time battles and endearing characters, concluded its run after nearly seven years. However, ShiftUp provided a "memorial" version of the app, allowing former players to revisit the game's stunning character art.
This memorial version, while not fully functional, serves as a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Players can once again admire their cherished Childs and their classes, though combat is unavailable. Access requires verification using previous game data, limiting access to players with pre-shutdown accounts. The memorial version is available on the Google Play Store, offering a final chance to appreciate the artwork before the new game's launch.
