Divinity: Original Sin 2 - How To Get The Ship Moving
This guide details how to get the Lady Vengeance sailing in Divinity: Original Sin 2 after escaping Fort Joy. The process involves a series of puzzles and interactions.
Quick Links
After removing your Source collar, you'll need to find an unconventional way to start the ship. Explore the ship, talk to NPCs, and gather clues. The goal is to access Magister Dallis' cabin and obtain the Ancient Empire Songbook.
Investigate Dead Bodies
Examine the bodies on deck. A Sodden Diary on a magister's corpse contains a password for a stateroom door. You can also obtain the password via a skill check with the northern stateroom door. You'll also need a Strange Gem, found later.
Find the Portside Stateroom
Use the password from the diary (or skill check) and the Strange Gem (obtained from Bishop Alexander's regalia) to unlock the Portside Stateroom. Recruit companions as needed before proceeding.
Find the Songbook
Inside Magister Dallis' cabin, speak to Dallis and Tarquin. The Ancient Empire Songbook is located on a pedestal in the cabin. Reading it reveals the song needed to move the ship. Speak to all NPCs before proceeding, as interaction opportunities will be lost once the ship sails.
Setting Sail
Return to the deck and speak to Malady. She'll ask you to sing the song to the ship. Find the dragon figurine to the west and sing the song. Be prepared for a challenging battle with magisters immediately afterward. Ensure your party is adequately prepared.
