EcoDash: Endless Runner to Fight Air Pollution and Rescue Animals
Introducing Mother Nature: EcoDash, a groundbreaking endless runner game now available on Android, brought to you by BOM (Birmingham Open Media), a UK-based immersive arts organization. The game's title hints at its unique premise where you confront pollution head-on. This innovative project was developed in collaboration with a talented group of girls aged 11-18 from Powered by CAN, a youth initiative. Their contributions were instrumental in shaping the game’s art style and mechanics through BOM's Immersive Studio.
What Makes Mother Nature: EcoDash Stand Out?
In Mother Nature: EcoDash, you step into the shoes of Mother Nature, portrayed as a Black female scientist on a mission to cleanse the city and rescue animals. As you navigate the urban landscape, you're constantly pursued by Smog, the game's antagonist bent on exacerbating pollution. Your challenge is to outpace the pollution, gather air purifiers, and keep the smog meter under control to avoid being engulfed by a toxic cloud.
Beyond the core running and jumping gameplay, Mother Nature: EcoDash integrates rescue missions where you can save endangered animals scattered throughout the city. Your ultimate goal is to reach the rainforest and release these animals back into their natural environment, adding a layer of purpose and engagement to the game.
BOM's vision for the game was to transform complex issues like climate change and air pollution into an accessible and entertaining experience. The game is enriched with various power-ups, shields, and bonus items designed to assist you in your mission.
Mother Nature: EcoDash offers a straightforward yet impactful gameplay experience with a powerful environmental message. If this resonates with you, head over to the Google Play Store to give it a try.
