Krafton's Tarasona: Anime-Inspired Battle Royale Soft Launches in India
- Tarasona: Battle Royale is a new isometric shooter from Krafton
- It sees you engaging in quick-paced three minute matches
- Characters have distinctive skills and abilities
Well, aside from the recent release of PUBG Mobile for the cloud, Krafton has also made another recent drop. The developer quietly released a new animesque battle royale into soft launch earlier, with Tarasona: Battle Royale. This 3v3 isometric shooter is available now for Android in India.
In Tarasona you'll match up with other players in matches, eliminating the enemy team to take home the gold, simple. Boasting brief three-minute matches and intuitive controls, Tarasona would seem to be a winner, but it's been quietly pushed into release on Google Play with little in the way of fanfare. But regardless of what I may think of the release, there's plenty to unpack here.
It seems that Krafton is leaning heavily into the anime-styled aesthetic with Tarasona, that much is obvious. Each character is colourful and invariably female, boasting the slightly unrealistic armour and weaponry you'd expect from any good shonen or shoujo series.

What I noticed when digging up gameplay was that Tarasona seems a little bit rough around the edges. This is early days of course, and what looks to be a soft launch, so that's to be expected. But mechanics like having to stop in place in order to fire is weirdly slow-paced for a developer like Krafton, most well-known for translating PUBG to mobile.
I'm sure we'll keep you posted as more news developers for Tarasona, but right now it seems to be slipping a bit under the radar. So here's hoping as we move into Christmas and the New Year that things will start to move faster, and we'll also see Tarasona coming to new territories in the coming months.
In the meantime, if you're looking for other battle royales to try, you've come to the right place. We've listed all the best games that are just like the most famous example, Fortnite, on iOS and Android!
