Mortal Kombat 1 Dataminer Discovers Animations for Hara-Kiri Fatalities — and They Could Be Coming as Quitalities
A dataminer for Mortal Kombat 1 has uncovered intriguing evidence suggesting that the iconic fighting game could soon feature Hara-Kiri Fatalities, potentially in the form of Quitalities. Redditor InfiniteNightZ shared a video showcasing what appear to be Hara-Kiri animations, a self-Fatality mechanic introduced in Mortal Kombat: Deception back in 2004.

The discovery gains credibility as InfiniteNightZ found these animations linked to recently added DLC characters such as Ghostface. This suggests that Hara-Kiri Fatalities might be integrated into Mortal Kombat 1 through a future update. "After seeing that they're adding it to the downloaded roster now, I think it's highly possible," InfiniteNightZ remarked.
Moreover, the animations are referenced as Quitalities within the game's code. Quitalities are swift finishers that activate when a player quits a multiplayer match, a feature seen in previous entries of the series. "They are listed as Quitalities, there's still hope," InfiniteNightZ added optimistically.
Following InfiniteNightZ's revelation, another prominent Mortal Kombat 1 dataminer, Interloko, discovered additional Hara-Kiri animations, further supporting the possibility of their inclusion.

Here are another 2 missing from the video, so looks like only Omniman and Conan doesn't have one.I didn't try to trigger it in the game because I'm bussy finishing some stuff of the demo of my own game https://t.co/TqBKyauY0G pic.twitter.com/hL4QzLRXwf

However, it's important to note that neither NetherRealm Studios nor Warner Bros. Games has officially confirmed the addition of Quitalities to Mortal Kombat 1.
The game has seen a recent revival with the introduction of a secret fight featuring Floyd, the pink ninja, sparking community efforts to unlock him. Fans also eagerly await the T-1000 guest character, with hopes of more DLC on the horizon, although NetherRealm has yet to confirm any additional content.
