Polytopia's Aquarion Tribe Emerges as Aquatic Powerhouse

Dec 12,24

Midjiwan Studio has released a major update for The Battle of Polytopia, completely revamping the Aquarion Tribe, originally introduced in 2017. This update gives the first special tribe a significant makeover.

Aquarion's Aquatic Transformation

The Aquarion land units now boast mermaid tails, making them amphibious or fully aquatic. This allows them to move effortlessly across water, although their land movement is slower. A key addition is flooded terrain, enabling land and naval units to occupy the same space for the first time.

Buildings have also received an aquatic upgrade. Construction on water is now possible, with Lost Cities nestled within deep-sea ruins, providing ideal bases for seafaring warfare. A new structure, the Atoll, connects water cities, eliminating the need for roads. Aqua Crops are back and permanently integrated, functioning like land-based equivalents.

New aquatic creatures add excitement to the battlefield. Sharks ambush opponents, puffers provide long-range bombardment, and jellies deliver electric shocks. Returning favorites, the Tridentions and Crabs, are also present, with Crabs now flooding the tiles they traverse, synergizing well with the mermaid-tailed troops. See the changes in action:
