Why Dice Break in Citizen Sleeper 2

Stress is the primary culprit. Failing actions or experiencing starvation increases stress, leading to dice breakage. Each die withstands three hits before requiring repair.

Early game dice damage on Hexport can't be immediately fixed. Repair becomes available on Far Spindle after meeting Bliss, who unlocks the Rig Workshop on your ship. Access the workshop between contracts to repair dice using either Improvised Repairs or Dice Repair.

Improvised Repairs vs. Dice Repair

Improvised Repairs: Costs 2 Scrap Components, fixes one die, but significantly increases the Glitch meter, raising the risk of a glitched die.
Dice Repair: Requires 1 Rare Component (harder to find), adds less to the Glitch meter.

Dice Repair is generally preferable if affordable. However, Improvised Repairs are viable, especially as Rare Components become more readily available late game.

Can You Repair Glitched Dice?

Glitched dice (20% positive, 80% negative outcome) may occur. While there's no direct repair method, the story, particularly after the "Diagnose Your Frame" drive, will repair a single glitched die.
