Indie game developer Sander Frenken has revealed that his upcoming RTS-lite game, Battledom, is currently undergoing alpha testing. This new title acts as a spiritual successor to Frenken's 2020 hit, Herodom, and represents roughly two years of part-time development. Frenken describes Battledom as a closer realization of his initial vision for Herodom.

Battledom features flexible RTS combat mechanics. Players freely maneuver units across the battlefield, targeting enemies and manually operating siege weapons for devastating attacks. Strategic formations add depth to the gameplay.

Players build their armies using in-game currency, starting with basic, unequipped units. Customization is key; players equip units with weapons and armor, modifying stats like range, accuracy, defense, and attack power.

Resource gathering is essential, with wood, leather, and coal among the materials needed to create items at the blacksmith, magician, and other village specialists.

Frenken is renowned for Herodom, which enjoys a 4.6 App Store rating. This game offers over 55 collectible heroes, 150+ units and siege weapons, and historically-themed battles. Progression unlocks new character customization options, crops, and farm animals.

iOS users can participate in the Battledom alpha test via TestFlight. For updates and further information on Battledom, follow Sander Frenken on X (formerly Twitter) or Reddit. His other games are available on the App Store.
