"1999 Time-Loop Puzzle Game 'A Perfect Day' Released"
A Perfect Day Pocket – Go back to 1999 is a captivating new release on Android developed by Littoral Games, the creators of Growing Up and Chinese Parents. If you enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of those games, you'll find a similar charm in this title. The game boasts water-coloured, hand-painted visuals reminiscent of Growing Up, where the art alone tells a compelling story.
During its launch week, from February 27th to March 5th, A Perfect Day – Go back to 1999 is available for just $1.99. After that period, the price will increase to $2.99 on Android. If you pre-registered for the game, you can claim a special Panda Quake Mini 4WD by visiting Brother Cao at the Youth Palace. Additionally, a limited-time Easter egg, the Old Uniform, awaits discovery in 'My Bedroom' until March 26th.
What’s the Premise of A Perfect Day – Go Back to 1999?
As the title suggests, A Perfect Day – Go Back to 1999 transports you to the year 1999, a hallmark of Littoral Games' focus on nostalgic narratives set in the 90s and early 2000s. In this game, you relive the last day of 1999, December 31st, in a time-loop puzzle narrative. You play as an elementary schoolboy caught in a time loop reminiscent of Groundhog Day.
The game is structured into seven time segments, featuring eleven main characters and twenty event cards, along with one free DLC. Your mission is to uncover secrets about your classmates, friends, and family, all while helping them achieve their 'perfect day.'
Repeat, Revisit, and Rewrite
Central to the game are themes of memories, regrets, and choices. You have the opportunity to revisit childhood friendships, explore the lives of your young parents, and make decisions that influence the narrative's direction. The story is interconnected, allowing for various outcomes as you repeat the same day.
A Perfect Day also includes nostalgic mini-games such as a Mini 4WD race, a Gamicom console, and an arcade, which capture the essence of 90s gaming. With its interactive storytelling and evocative visuals, this game is definitely worth exploring.
You can find A Perfect Day Pocket – Go back to 1999 on the Google Play Store. For a glimpse into the game, check out the trailer below.
