2025's First Deadlock Update: Surprisingly Small

Apr 14,25

Valve has returned from their New Year holidays, and game developers are rolling out new patches. Following the announcement that Deadlock would no longer follow a bi-weekly update schedule, the community anticipated a comprehensive patch. However, Valve opted for a lighter start to the year.

The recent patch focused solely on one hero: Yamato, who received a minor nerf. This included a reduction in damage scaling and a decreased attack speed bonus at the first level of Shadow Transformation. Additionally, abilities such as Frenzy, Berserker, and Restorative Shot were weakened, while Alchemical Fire saw slight modifications.

With this smaller update, it seems likely that players will have to wait for a more substantial patch. At this stage, predicting when that might happen is challenging.

It's important to mention that Deadlock has experienced a decline in its player base recently. This may be attributed to the popularity of Marvel Rivals, but for a game still in deep beta, maintaining an online player count between 7,000 and 19,000 is commendable. It's also worth noting that Valve has not yet disclosed any potential release dates or details regarding the game's monetization model.
