2XKO Reveals The Rogue Assassin, Akali
Coming April 7
2XKO has unveiled the gameplay trailer for its newest character, Ionia’s lone ninja, Akali. As confirmed via official social media channels on April 1, she is scheduled to launch alongside patch 1.1.5 on April 7.
According to her official stats shared on X (formerly Twitter), Akali is a high-mobility fighter designed to control space and create distance using her kunai. While her vitality and raw power are slightly lower to balance her speed, she remains beginner-friendly, allowing players to easily grasp her combos and playstyle.
Gameplay Trailer Features Fast-Paced Moveset
The reveal trailer highlights a high-octane kit that embodies Akali’s identity as a "Rogue Assassin" within the fast-paced tag-team genre. It emphasizes incredible verticality and seamless air-to-ground transitions, utilizing teleport-like speed to bypass traditional neutral gameplay.Akali’s abilities draw heavily from her League of Legends roots, featuring multi-hitting kunai strikes and a flashy cinematic super attack that showcases her lethal precision. As an agile rushdown character, she dominates screen navigation by using Shuriken Flip to mark opponents and instantly zip across the stage for follow-up pressure.
She can also deploy Twilight Shroud (smoke bomb) for concealment or tactical repositioning, forcing enemies to guess between overhead and low attacks. Beyond her technical skills, fans are thrilled by the inclusion of a signature Izuna Drop—a classic grappling move famously associated with Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden and Vega from Street Fighter.
Overall, Akali’s synergy with 2XKO’s tag mechanics is impressive; she can safely exit high-commitment combos by swapping partners or using her mobility to set up devastating cross-up assists.
With this addition, 2XKO’s roster expands to 13 characters, introducing a fresh playstyle that deepens the tactical diversity of the tag-team fighter. Developer Riot Games has promised more details as the release date approaches.
2XKO is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via the Riot Games client. For the latest updates, refer to our article below.
