3 Popular Horror Games Coming to Switch This Year
Nintendo Switch Welcomes Frictional Games' Horror Classics in 2025
Abylight Studios and Frictional Games have partnered to bring a chilling collection of horror titles to the Nintendo Switch. SOMA, Amnesia: Rebirth, and Amnesia: The Bunker will all launch digitally and physically on the Switch in 2025. This collaboration expands the availability of these critically acclaimed games to a new audience.
Frictional Games, renowned for its immersive horror experiences, has entrusted Abylight Studios with the porting process. This move brings much-anticipated horror titles to a console known for its diverse game library, addressing the demand for more mature-rated games on the platform.
The partnership extends beyond the three main titles. A physical edition of the existing Amnesia Collection for Nintendo Switch will also be released later this year. This collection includes the seminal Amnesia: The Dark Descent and its acclaimed companion, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs.
The upcoming Switch releases include:
- SOMA: A sci-fi horror exploring themes of artificial intelligence and human existence.
- Amnesia: Rebirth: A return to the core gameplay of the Amnesia series, delivering a terrifying and atmospheric experience.
- Amnesia: The Bunker: A semi-open world survival horror set in the trenches of World War I.
- Amnesia Collection (Physical): A physical release of the existing Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs.
While specific release dates remain unannounced, fans eagerly await the arrival of these iconic horror games on the Nintendo Switch. The expanded horror selection on the Switch raises exciting questions about the future of mature-rated titles on Nintendo's next-generation console. Stay tuned for updates on release dates and other horror gaming news.
