The Samsung Pro Plus works with nearly any device that accepts Micro SDXC cards, such as the Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, and ASUS ROG Ally. With a U3 / A2 / V30 speed rating, the Pro Plus outperforms typical Micro SDXC cards. It reaches sustained read speeds up to 180MB/s and write speeds up to 130MB/s, making it perfect for devices that demand quick, high-capacity data transfers—like 4K DSLRs, action cameras, or handheld gaming consoles. The included USB card reader allows easy file transfers to your PC, even when you don’t have a data cable handy.
This card is also fully compatible with the Nintendo Switch. The base Switch and Switch OLED models come with only 32GB and 64GB of internal storage, respectively—some of which is used by the system. For reference, *Tears of the Kingdom* uses about 16GB, while *Breath of the Wild* requires around 13.5GB. If you bought both digitally, they'd fill up the entire internal storage of the original Switch. Since the Switch has only one memory card slot, it's smart to buy the largest card you can, though 512GB is usually enough for most players.
Is this memory card compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2?
Unfortunately, this card won’t be compatible with the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, which will require the newer Micro SD Express format to take advantage of the console’s higher speed capabilities. If you're shopping specifically for the Switch 2, MicroSD Express cards are available now—though selection is limited and prices are significantly higher than standard Micro SD cards. While traditional Micro SD cards max out at 104MB/s using the UHS-I interface, MicroSD Express cards utilize PCIe and NVMe technology to achieve speeds up to 985MB/s.
