How Agamotto Works in Marvel Snap

Agamotto is a 5-cost, 10-power card with a unique ability: "Game Start: Shuffle 4 Ancient Arcana into your deck." These Arcana are:

• Temporal Manipulation (1-cost): On Reveal: Give Agamotto +3 Power. Put him into your hand if he’s not in play. (Banish this.)
• Wombs of Watoomb (2-cost): On Reveal: Afflict an enemy card here with -5 Power and move it right. (Banish this.)
• Bolts of Balthakk (3-cost): On Reveal: Next turn, you get +4 Energy. (Banish this.)
• Images of Ikonn (4-cost): On Reveal: Transform your other cards here into copies of the highest-Power one. (Banish this.)

The Arcana lack power cost, are classified as Skill cards (not character cards), and feature the "Banish" keyword—they're played and then removed from the game, unable to be retrieved. This means they combo with Wong but not Odin; King Etri won't pull Agamotto, and Ravonna Renslayer or Mister Negative won't affect their cost. Agamotto's versatility makes him difficult to categorize into a single archetype, as he significantly alters deck composition and strategy.

Best Early Agamotto Decks in Marvel Snap

While a dedicated Agamotto archetype may emerge later, he currently fits well into two existing deck types: Wiccan Control and Push Scream.

Temporal Manipulation retrieves Agamotto early, Wombs of Watoomb disrupts opponents, and Images of Ikonn creates powerful board states, especially when combined with Cassandra Nova or Galacta. Bolts of Balthakk provides crucial energy boosts, mitigating the risk of missing Wiccan. Many cards can be substituted with similar-cost alternatives.

This deck, also expensive (with several Series 5 cards), uses Agamotto's Arcana to enhance its existing strengths. Wombs of Watoomb provides disruption, while Temporal Manipulation and Images of Ikonn create powerful board swings with Scream, Spider-Man, or Cannonball. Agamotto adds unpredictability and counterplay against decks using Luke Cage or Shadow King. Hydra Bob can be replaced with Nightcrawler, and Iron Patriot with Jeff.
