Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 4090 Gaming PC Now Under $3,000
High-end prebuilt PCs often come with a hefty price tag, but savvy shoppers can still snag significant savings with the right deals. Currently, Dell is offering an incredible discount on the Alienware Aurora R16 equipped with a GeForce RTX 4090, now priced at just $2,899.99 after a $1,000 instant discount. This marks the first time in months that an RTX 4090 gaming PC has been available for under $3,000. With standalone RTX 4090 graphics cards seeing a price increase and costing at least $2,000 from reputable vendors, building your own PC might not be as cost-effective as you'd think. Moreover, opting for a prebuilt PC like this one comes with the added benefit of an all-inclusive warranty.

$3,699.99 save 22% $2,899.99 at Alienware
This Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC boasts an Intel Core i9-14900KF CPU, a GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, 32GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a 2TB NVMe SSD. The 14th gen Intel Core i9-14900KF is currently the top Intel gaming CPU and excels in productivity tasks as well. Known for running hot, it's effectively cooled by a robust 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler. The system is powered by a 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply, ensuring stable performance.
The RTX 4090 stands as the most powerful GPU available, outpacing all competitors from both NVIDIA and AMD. In his review, Chris Coke praised the RTX 4090, stating, "The RTX 4090 may be huge and expensive, but holy smokes if it doesn’t blow the competition out of the water... Until the rest of the pack can catch up, between its impressive hardware specs and its DLSS 3 AI wizardry, even the $1,599 price doesn’t seem unreasonable for the unrivaled frame rates that this card can crank out." With this GPU, you can enjoy any game at 4K resolution with ultra settings and ray tracing enabled, delivering high framerates even in the most demanding new titles like Black Myth: Wukong or Warhammer Space Marine 2. Additionally, the RTX 4090 is the preferred consumer card for AI applications, thanks to its 24GB of GDDR6X VRAM.
A note on RTX 5000 series GPUs
NVIDIA's upcoming RTX 5000 series GPUs are slated for release starting at the end of January. While the RTX 5090 promises even greater power, it will come at a steep price of $2,000 for the Founder's Edition at launch, with potential availability issues. The RTX 5080, launching at $999, may also face supply constraints. Although we'll soon benchmark these cards, they will feature less VRAM than the RTX 4090 (16GB vs 24GB) and may not immediately dethrone the 4090 as the leading GPU.
A note on Alienware's newest "R16" desktop chassis
The R16 represents Alienware's 2024 desktop PC design, boasting a 40% reduction in volume compared to its predecessors. It employs a proven airflow pattern, drawing air through side intake vents over the GPU area and a 120mm front fan, with exhaust facilitated by a 120mm rear fan and two 120mm top fans. The 240mm radiator for the all-in-one liquid cooling system is mounted to these top fans. While some configurations omit the liquid cooling system, we typically recommend those that include it due to the superior performance over Alienware's stock air cooling. Note that Dell unveiled a new Area 51 chassis at CES 2025, which closely resembles the R16 in appearance and design.
