Dynamax Legendary Birds Arrive Over Three Weeks

Featuring the Iconic Trio: Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres

Starting January 20 and running through February 3, the colossal Dynamax forms of Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres will appear in Pokemon GO.

This gigantic legendary trio will feature in five-star Max Raids at Power Spots, where Trainers can battle and capture these powerful Dynamax Pokemon. Each bird will debut on a specific Monday during the event period. Here's the full schedule:

　⚫︎ Dynamax Articuno: January 20
　⚫︎ Dynamax Zapdos: January 27
　⚫︎ Dynamax Moltres: February 3

Following their initial debut, each legendary bird will remain available in raids for an entire week. Additionally, a special "Legendary Flight Timed Research" will be active, offering opportunities to catch Pokemon—some with an increased chance of being Shiny—ideal for building a team to challenge the legendaries. Completing this research also rewards Candy and Max Particles to strengthen your Pokemon. The Timed Research schedule, in local time, is as follows:

　⚫︎ Dynamax Articuno - January 17, 10:00 a.m. to January 20, 7:00 p.m. (Charmander, Beldum, Scorbunny)
　⚫︎ Dynamax Zapdos - January 24, 10:00 a.m. to January 27, 7:00 p.m. (Drilbur, Cryogonal, Grookey)
　⚫︎ Dynamax Moltres - January 31, 10:00 a.m. to February 3, 7:00 p.m. (Squirtle, Krabby, Sobble)

The Victory Pokemon, Victini, Returns

Pokemon GO has also revealed new details for the global Pokemon GO Tour: Unova event. While the in-person event has limited attendance, the development team announced that all players worldwide can upgrade their free Tour Pass to a Tour Pass Deluxe for enhanced rewards and accelerated progress.

On February 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time, all Pokemon GO players will receive a free Tour Pass. This pass lets players "collect Tour Points and rank up to earn bonus rewards until the event concludes on Sunday, March 2, at 6:00 p.m. local time."

Beyond faster progression, upgrading to the Tour Pass Deluxe grants an immediate encounter with the Mythical Pokemon Victini and awards a new Lucky Trinket upon reaching the highest tier. This unique item allows you to set your status with a friend to Lucky Friends, guaranteeing your next trade results in a Lucky Pokemon with boosted stats and reduced Stardust cost. After the trade, the Lucky Friends status resets, making this a one-time chance to secure a powerful Pokemon.

The Tour Pass Deluxe and Tour Pass Deluxe + 10 Ranks bundles are available for $14.99 USD and $19.99 USD, respectively. Remember, rewards from these upgrades must be claimed before they expire on March 9, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
