Every Assassin's Creed Game Tier List
Ubisoft's latest addition to the beloved stealth-action open world series, *Assassin's Creed Shadows*, has finally arrived, set against the backdrop of 16th-century Japan. With over 30 games under the Assassin's Creed banner, we're focusing solely on the mainline entries for this ranking discussion, leaving out mobile games, side-scrollers, VR experiences, and spin-offs like *Bloodlines* and *Liberation*.
The journey began in 2007 with Desmond Miles stepping into the Animus to embody his ancestor Altaïr. Fast forward 18 years, and players now take control of Naoe and Yasuke in this latest installment, marking the 14th core game in the series. I've taken the liberty of creating an IGN Tier List based on my personal enjoyment of each title, which you can explore below:
In my list, *Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag* remains the pinnacle, cherished for its seamless blend of island exploration, thrilling ship combat, and a vibrant cast that delivers an unparalleled AC experience. Sharing the S-tier is *Assassin’s Creed 2*, the game that truly launched the series into the spotlight. *Assassin’s Creed Valhalla* secures an A-tier spot, possibly a surprise to some, but its Viking-themed combat and the addictive Orlog minigame won me over. It's accompanied by *Unity*, whose detailed recreation of Paris during the French Revolution remains breathtaking even a decade on.
Do you disagree with my rankings? Perhaps you find *Valhalla* too expansive or consider *Assassin’s Creed 2* overrated? Feel free to create your own tier list below and compare your S, A, B, C, and D tiers with the entire IGN community.
