Atakhan: The New League of Legends Champion Unveiled
Feb 10,25
This guide details Atakhan, a new neutral objective in League of Legends, impacting gameplay significantly. Atakhan, the "Bringer of Ruin," debuts in Season 1 of 2025 as part of the Noxus Invasion. Uniquely, his spawn location and form are dynamically determined by early-game actions.
Atakhan's Spawn: Time and Location
- Spawn Time: Atakhan always appears at the 20-minute mark, shifting Baron Nashor's spawn to 25 minutes.
- Pit Location: Atakhan's Pit materializes in the river at 14 minutes. Its precise location (Top or Bot lane river) depends on the game's early aggression; the side with more damage and kills hosts the pit. This provides a 6-minute preparation window for teams. The pit features permanent walls, intensifying combat.
Atakhan's Forms and Buffs
Atakhan manifests in one of two forms, determined by early-game activity:
- Voracious Atakhan: Spawns in less aggressive games (low champion damage and kills). His buff rewards aggressive play:
- +40 gold per champion takedown (kills and assists) for the slaying team, lasting the entire game.
- A one-time death mitigation effect for each team member (150 seconds duration). Instead of death, they enter stasis (2 seconds) before returning to base (3.5 seconds). The killer receives 100 gold and 1 Blood Petal.
- Ruinous Atakhan: Appears in high-action games (high champion damage and kills). His buff scales objective rewards:
- A 25% boost to all Epic Monster rewards (including previously slain objectives) for the slaying team, lasting the entire game.
- 6 Blood Petals per team member.
- 6 Large and 6 Small Blood Rose plants spawn near his pit, providing additional stat boosts upon destruction.
Blood Roses and Petals
Blood Roses, a new resource, spawn near champion deaths and Atakhan's Pit (also after Ruinous Atakhan's defeat). They grant Blood Petals upon destruction:
- Blood Petals: Provide 25 XP (potentially increased by 100% for players with low K/D/A) and 1 Adaptive Force (AD or AP).
- Small Blood Roses: Grant 1 Blood Petal.
- Large Blood Roses: Grant 3 Blood Petals.
Atakhan introduces a dynamic element to League of Legends, demanding strategic adaptation based on his form and the resulting buffs.
