Long awaited by players across PC and console platforms, crossplay is finally coming to Baldur's Gate 3 with Patch 8! While a firm release date is pending, a Patch 8 Stress Test will give select players early access in January 2025. This test allows Larian Studios to identify and resolve bugs before the full release.

When is Baldur's Gate 3 Crossplay Arriving?

Patch 8, including crossplay functionality, doesn't yet have an official release date. However, a stress test in January 2025 will allow a limited number of players to experience crossplay and other Patch 8 features early.

How to Participate in the Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8 Stress Test

To be among the first to try Baldur's Gate 3's crossplay, register for the Patch 8 Stress Test. This is open to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox players. Simply complete Larian's Stress Test registration form. You'll need a Larian account; create one or log in if you already have one. The form is quick and requires basic information, including your chosen platform.

Selection isn't guaranteed. Those chosen will receive an email with further instructions. Selected participants can provide feedback through forms and Discord.

The Stress Test also evaluates the patch's effect on mods. Mod users and creators should register to ensure compatibility.

Crucially, all players in your Baldur's Gate 3 group must participate in the Stress Test to use crossplay during this period. Otherwise, you'll need to wait for the full release in 2025.
