Baldur's Gate III Stress Test Begins

Baldur's Gate III's eighth and potentially final major patch is now undergoing stress testing. While some Sony console players received early access, players not participating in the test are advised to reinstall the game for optimal performance.

Patch 8 introduces highly anticipated cross-platform play, uniting PC and console players. Players can join friends across different platforms provided they have linked Larian accounts. Remarkably, modded gameplay is also supported in crossplay, provided all mods used are available on Mac and consoles, and the host's lobby has fewer than ten mods installed.

Multiplayer functionality receives a significant boost with the addition of split-screen co-op on Xbox Series S, a feature previously unavailable on this console.

Further enhancements in Patch 8 include a fully customizable photo mode and twelve new subclasses, adding considerable depth and replayability. While Larian has addressed numerous bugs and rebalanced gameplay elements, some issues may persist. A comprehensive changelog detailing all changes implemented during the stress test is available on the game's official website.
