PlatinumGames is celebrating Bayonetta's 15th anniversary with a year-long fan appreciation event! The original game, released in 2009 (Japan) and 2010 (worldwide), captivated players with its innovative design and exhilarating action sequences, establishing Bayonetta as a celebrated video game icon. Its success spawned sequels, primarily on Nintendo platforms, and even a prequel, Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon. Bayonetta also made appearances in the Super Smash Bros. series.

Throughout 2025, PlatinumGames will unveil special announcements and Bayonetta-themed merchandise to commemorate this milestone. While specifics remain under wraps, the developer encourages fans to follow their social media channels for updates.

Already released is a limited-edition Bayonetta music box by Wayo Records, featuring the "Theme Of Bayonetta - Mysterious Destiny" and a design inspired by the Super Mirror. Monthly Bayonetta-themed smartphone wallpapers are also being offered, with January's featuring Bayonetta and Jeanne in kimonos.

The enduring legacy of the original Bayonetta is undeniable. Its influence on the action genre, particularly through innovations like Witch Time, continues to resonate in later PlatinumGames titles such as Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and Nier: Automata. Stay tuned for more exciting reveals throughout this special anniversary year!
