After completing the main quest, you'll find that Assassin’s Creed Shadows retains its expansive open world, brimming with side content. Finishing the main quest doesn't restrict you from any of this additional content, allowing you to delve deeper into the world of Feudal Japan at your leisure.

Moreover, the game will continue to evolve with new weekly challenges introduced via the Animus post-launch, providing even more to do after you've achieved 100% completion.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Epilogue and Endgame Explained

Even after the credits roll, there might still be story elements to uncover. In my playthrough, the credits appeared after completing the Shinbakufu Objective Board and the main quests for Yasuke and Naoe. However, I hadn't yet earned the trophy for finishing Act 3 or The Epilogue. To unlock the epilogue and achieve the true ending, you must complete the personal stories of Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro. Following this, head back to the Hideout and speak with Tomiko to secure the complete ending and the associated achievements.

Additionally, exclusive gear themed around the Assassins for Naoe and the Templars for Yasuke becomes available around the game's end. These armor sets not only come with perks that enhance each protagonist’s unique playstyle but also feature designs that will resonate with long-time fans of the Assassin’s Creed series.

In terms of endgame content, players can continue to progress and reach the game’s maximum level cap well after the credits have rolled.

What’s Next For Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

While the main story concludes at launch, Assassin’s Creed Shadows promises ongoing content. New additions will be made through the Animus, and the in-game store is expected to refresh with new items. Furthermore, a story expansion titled The Claws of Awaji is slated for release later in 2025. This DLC will introduce players to the Island of Awaji and offer over 10 hours of new content.
