Treyarch is marking 115 Day with an exciting array of announcements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, highlighted by the unveiling of a brand-new map, The Tomb. This January 15 celebration is a special holiday for Call of Duty enthusiasts, featuring a comprehensive blog detailing all the upcoming zombie-themed surprises. The headliner of today's reveal is The Tomb, a new Zombies map set in a sandy environment, set to debut with the launch of Season 2 on January 28. This means fans can look forward to a fresh addition to the Zombies universe just under two weeks after Season 1's Citadelle des Morts.

According to Treyarch, after surviving the harrowing events at Citadelle des Morts, the characters Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya follow Gabriel Krafft’s final instructions to a nearby excavation site to secure the Sentinel Artifact. The Tomb is built on ancient burial grounds with origins dating back to 2500 B.C.E., which remained undisturbed until the early 1900s. The mysteries beneath these catacombs may be deeper than anyone could imagine.

The team has described The Tomb as a mysterious location linked to a British archaeologist named Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe, though they've kept the details of its connection to the larger Zombies narrative under wraps. In terms of gameplay, The Tomb is designed to offer an experience akin to Liberty Falls, featuring compact play spaces with a strong emphasis on replayability as players uncover numerous Easter eggs.

Treyarch has also teased a reimagined Wonder Weapon inspired by their past creations and the return of an iconic SMG, though specifics remain a mystery. Season 2 will also introduce a range of quality-of-life enhancements, including the ability to track up to 10 Calling Card and 10 Camo challenges in both Zombies and Multiplayer modes. A new co-op pause option for Zombies will allow the party leader to pause a match mid-run, and HUD presets for Zombies and Multiplayer will be separated. Additionally, players will be able to rejoin Zombies matches with their loadout if disconnected.

To celebrate 115 Day, Black Ops 6 players can enjoy double the GobbleGum earn rate, as well as double player, weapon, and battle pass XP until 10am PT on January 21. Treyarch has also shared some impressive stats on the story-driven Directed Mode, revealing that players have spent over 480 million hours playing Black Ops 6 Zombies. The studio's goal with Directed Mode was to expand the Zombies community by guiding new players through the Main Quests, and the results have been promising. Since Directed Mode's launch, the average Main Quest completion rate has surged from 3.38% on November 14 to 8.23% today.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the voices of the Zombies characters when The Tomb goes live, especially after Activision announced last month that some beloved Zombies characters have been recast due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.
