Borderlands 4: Official Release Date Revealed
Gearbox Unveils Borderlands 4 Release Date: September 23, 2025
Gearbox Software has officially revealed the release date for the highly anticipated Borderlands 4. During a recent State of Play presentation, Gearbox president Randy Pitchford announced that the game will launch on September 23, 2025. The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer showcasing exciting gameplay features.
A standout feature highlighted in the trailer is the addition of a grappling hook, promising new traversal options. However, fans can rest assured that the signature Borderlands blend of over-the-top weaponry, explosive action, and chaotic mayhem remains a core element of the gameplay.
To further build anticipation, Gearbox also confirmed a dedicated Borderlands 4 State of Play showcase planned for this spring. This special event will delve deeper into the gameplay mechanics and, of course, showcase a plethora of new weaponry.
While plot details remain scarce, the lead writer's previous comments hinting at a potential shift away from excessive "toilet humor" in the previous installment have sparked curiosity. Whether Borderlands 4 will adopt a more mature tone remains to be seen.
More information on Borderlands 4's storyline and features will be revealed during the spring State of Play. In the meantime, you can find a recap of all the major announcements from the recent PlayStation State of Play event elsewhere.
