Boss battles, Mechagodzilla and Kong: details on the Fortnite and Monsterverse collaboration
While a January 17th Fortnite release of a Godzilla skin has been rumored, recent leaks reveal a much larger MonsterVerse collaboration. Epic Games' latest update, set to unlock on January 17th, has been datamined, revealing exciting details. Beyond the Battle Pass's standard Godzilla, players can acquire Mechagodzilla and Kong skins from the item shop, complete with unique jetpacks and matching pickaxes.
A new boss event will also launch on January 17th. One player can transform into a giant Godzilla, utilizing abilities like atomic breath. Players must team up to defeat this colossal foe, with the player inflicting the most damage receiving a medallion granting a unique ability.
The Fortnite store will simultaneously release the Mechagodzilla and Kong set, priced as follows:
- Kong: 1500 V-bucks
- Mechagodzilla: 1800 V-bucks
- Two Pickaxes: 800 V-bucks each
- One Emote: 400 V-bucks
- Two Wraps: 500 V-bucks each
- Complete Set: 2800 V-bucks
Beyond the MonsterVerse crossover, Fortnite's ongoing collaborations continue. A potential Hatsune Miku collaboration is hinted at through social media interactions between the official Hatsune Miku and Fortnite accounts, suggesting a possible backpack-related crossover. Beyond the base Vocaloid skin, a "Miku the Catgirl" variant, a stylized pickaxe, and a virtual Hatsune Miku concert are also rumored.
