Exciting updates for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's Season 2 have been announced, promising significant enhancements to the beloved Zombies mode. As the launch of Season 2 approaches, fans are buzzing with anticipation over the new features that will elevate their gaming experience.
Since its inception in World at War over a decade ago, Zombies has remained a cornerstone of the Call of Duty franchise, and Black Ops 6 is no exception. With the return of round-based Zombies, Treyarch is committed to delivering immersive new environments and gameplay improvements. Season 2 is set to introduce several key updates that aim to refine and enhance the Zombies experience.
While multiplayer enthusiasts can look forward to numerous updates, Zombies players will also enjoy a suite of new features. In addition to the new Tomb map, players will benefit from UI enhancements and highly-requested additions. One such feature is the co-op pause option, which allows players in the same party to pause the game collectively—a feature long requested by the community.
Call of Duty Reveals Black Ops 6 Zombies Changes for Season 2
Challenge Tracking & Near Completion (Zombies and Multiplayer)
- Players can now manually track up to 10 Calling Card Challenges and 10 Camo Challenges per mode, simplifying progress monitoring.
- If fewer than 10 challenges are tracked, the system will display the nearest challenges to completion, helping players identify and complete them more efficiently.
- The top Tracked or Near Completion Calling Card and Camo Challenges will be visible in the Lobby and in-game via the Options Menu.
Co-op Pause
- In matches where all players are in the same party, the party leader can pause the game, allowing the team to regroup or take a break during intense rounds. This much-requested feature is set to debut in Season 2.
AFK Kick Loadout Recovery
- Players who are kicked from a co-op game for being inactive can now rejoin and recover their original loadout, preserving their progression and minimizing disruption.
Separate HUD Presets for Zombies and Multiplayer
- Players can now set up distinct HUD presets for Zombies and multiplayer, eliminating the need to switch settings between modes. This feature, although delayed due to other priorities, will enhance the user experience significantly.
The "AFK Kick Loadout Recovery" feature is particularly noteworthy, as it addresses the frustration of losing progression due to being kicked from a game. Players will appreciate the ability to rejoin with their weapons, perks, and points intact, ensuring a smoother gaming experience.
Additionally, the ability to create separate HUD presets for multiplayer and Zombies will streamline gameplay by allowing players to customize their settings for each mode. The introduction of manual tracking for up to 10 Calling Card and Camo Challenges per mode will also make progressing through Black Ops 6's extensive challenge system more manageable and engaging.
Season 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is scheduled to launch on January 28, 2025, bringing these exciting updates to players worldwide.
