Call of Duty: Warzone Experiencing Lobby Crashing Issue

Mar 04,25

Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a permanent fix is still under development, developers have implemented a temporary solution.

The Problem: Players reported widespread game freezes and crashes while loading into matches, leading to frustration and undeserved penalties. This issue followed other recent setbacks, including a temporary matchmaking outage and ongoing concerns about cheating and bugs. The problem was acknowledged by Raven Software on January 6th, and investigation began immediately.

The Temporary Fix: On January 9th, Raven Software announced a temporary suspension of Skill Rating (SR) penalties and timeouts for players disconnecting before joining Ranked matches. This addresses player concerns about unfair penalties caused by the unavoidable crashes. Penalties will still apply to players who leave matches in progress.

Ongoing Issues: Despite a major update in early January 2025, bugs persist, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by the development team. The temporary fix alleviates the immediate penalty issue, but a permanent solution is still awaited. The continued presence of bugs, especially those impacting Ranked play, remains a source of concern for the player base. The developers are actively working to resolve these issues.
