Code Geass: Lost Stories Ending Its Global Journey On Mobile Soon!
The mobile strategy tower defense game, Code Geass: Lost Stories, is ending its global run. While the Japanese version will continue, the international servers will shut down on August 29th, 2024. This means players will lose access to their accounts after that date, and official social media channels will also close.
Developed by f4samurai and DMM Games, and published by Komoe, the game, based on the popular Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion franchise, launched globally in September 2023. Its short lifespan is attributed to low download numbers and less-than-stellar global reviews. Many licensed anime games struggle to maintain player bases outside Japan, where player spending tends to be higher.
As of today, in-app purchases and new downloads are unavailable. However, Japanese players can still access the game via the Google Play Store.
The game, a blend of RPG, action, and tower defense elements, failed to gain significant traction internationally despite its popular source material. While its closure is disappointing for global fans, the game's Japanese player base continues to enjoy the experience. Be sure to check out other gaming news before you go!
