"Codenames: Classic Spy Game Now on Android!"
If you’re a fan of word games, chances are you've encountered Codenames, the beloved classic board game centered around spies and secret agents. Now, this thrilling game is accessible as an app, thanks to the original designer Vlaada Chvátil and publisher CGE Digital.
What Are Codenames?
In Codenames, you're part of a team tasked with uncovering secret agents hidden behind code names, guided by one-word clues from your spymaster. The objective is to identify the correct words, dodge bystanders, and crucially, avoid the assassin. This multiplayer game pits two teams against each other in a battle of wits, where the challenge is to guess the words on the grid that conceal your agents using a single, unifying clue. How adept are you at reading between the lines and outsmarting your opponents?
The digital version of Codenames enriches the experience with new words, various game modes, and achievements to unlock. It even incorporates a career mode, where you'll level up, earn rewards, and unlock special gadgets as you progress.
A standout feature is the asynchronous multiplayer mode, which allows each player up to 24 hours to make their move. This means you can juggle multiple games simultaneously, challenge players globally, and engage in daily solo challenges.
Curious about how it all comes together? Check out the trailer below!
It’s Still A Guessing Game!
On your screen, you'll see a grid of cards, and your mission is to tap the ones you believe are concealing your agents. Correct guesses reveal the identities behind the cards. However, mistakenly selecting the assassin card results in an immediate loss for your team.
Managing multiple games at once can be challenging, but that’s what makes it exciting! As you improve, you'll have the opportunity to step into the role of the spymaster, the mastermind behind the clues.
Ready to showcase your spy skills through word association puzzles? You can download Codenames from the Google Play Store for $4.99.
