No More Collecting Stage Girls! Revue Starlight Re LIVE Announces Its EOS
Revue Starlight Re LIVE is officially shutting down. The mobile game, based on the popular anime, will cease operation on September 30th, 2024, at 07:00 UTC. After nearly six years on Android, this chapter of the Revue Starlight story is coming to a close.
Why the Shutdown?
While initially a promising continuation of the anime's narrative, Revue Starlight Re LIVE struggled to maintain player engagement over its lifespan. Factors contributing to its closure include repetitive events, reused assets, and costly battle passes. Furthermore, some players found later plot developments, such as the storyline shift involving "The Giraffe," less than compelling. The shutdown affects the game globally, including Japan.
Despite its shortcomings, the game had some positive aspects. Its soundtrack, featuring music from the anime, and high-quality 3D graphics and Live2D animations were widely appreciated.
A Final Farewell?
Although the game's time is limited, players still have a few weeks to enjoy remaining content. Developers are implementing several events in August and September to thank players. These include a "Thank You For Everything" campaign offering 10 free daily pulls and a two-month birthday celebration featuring "New Stage Girl Gacha" events at the start of each month. Download the game from the Google Play Store to experience these final events.
