Confront Wakasa or Otama: Assassin’s Creed Shadows Dilemma
In *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*, not every choice carries significant weight, but deciding whether to confront Wakasa or Otama during the "The Tea Ceremony" mission will impact the rest of your campaign. Both participants in the tea ceremony raise suspicions, yet there's a clear choice that simplifies the quest significantly.
Should You Confront Wakasa or Otama in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
When you confront Wakasa, she'll invite Naoe to her home for a private conversation. Upon entering, you'll spot a kasa (straw hat) on the wall, which she wore during the prologue as the Onryo, confirming your decision. After some dialogue, the scene culminates in Naoe executing Wakasa by grabbing her Teppo from the wall and shooting her at point-blank range, swiftly concluding the mission.

What If You Confront Otama in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
If you mistakenly target Otama after the tea ceremony, you'll still end up killing Wakasa, but the process becomes much more complicated. Initially, Naoe will chase down and eliminate Otama, discovering a letter that exposes her corruption. However, this mistake allows Wakasa to retreat to Osaka Castle, fortifying herself with her soldiers.
To confront Wakasa, you must travel to Osaka Castle, either fighting her guards head-on or using stealth to bypass them. Even if you've unlocked the Osaka Tenshu fast travel point, you'll still encounter some resistance. Even a stealthy approach won't suffice for an easy kill, leading to a one-on-one battle with Wakasa. While the boss fight isn't overly challenging, confronting Wakasa directly from the start offers a less cumbersome and more cinematic takedown, especially considering her role in Naoe’s father's death.
Now that you know the optimal choice after the Tea Ceremony mission, learn how to gain XP and level up quickly in *Assassin’s Creed Shadows* to prepare for the game's tougher challenges. Additionally, discover ways to earn more Knowledge Points, enabling you to unlock valuable skills for Naoe and Yasuke.
*Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.*
