Console Keyboard-Mouse Users Face Marvel Rivals Ban
NetEase Games has announced a ban on keyboard and mouse adapters in Marvel Rivals on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. The use of adapters like XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper, which simulate gamepad input from keyboard and mouse, is considered a violation of the game's terms of service. This is due to the unfair competitive advantage provided by increased control precision and retained aim assist.
NetEase employs sophisticated detection methods to identify adapter usage with high accuracy, resulting in account suspension upon detection. The company states that these devices create an uneven playing field, particularly in competitive modes.
Separately, the game has also shown a correlation between higher FPS and increased ping. While this effect might be negligible at lower ping values, a jump from, for example, 90ms to 150ms can significantly impact gameplay. This issue appears linked to frame rate. Until a patch addresses this, players are advised to experiment with their FPS settings, with some suggesting maintaining around 90 FPS as a temporary workaround, despite this being lower than what many players are accustomed to in other titles.
