The latest Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation PRISM trailer features romance and tropical setting
Koei Tecmo has unveiled a new trailer for Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation PRISM, a romance game spin-off of their popular fighting game franchise.
Launching March 27th on PS5, PS4, and PC, the game will feature a special Asian "global version" with English text support. Players can participate in mini-games, customize character appearances, and enjoy a vibrant tropical island setting. The developers promise diverse relationship-building mechanics and an immersive romantic narrative.
Venus Vacation PRISM represents a departure for Dead or Alive fans, offering a unique gameplay experience while retaining the series' distinctive aesthetic.
However, even this venture highlights the ongoing tension between fan creativity and developer control. Each year, Koei Tecmo removes approximately 200-300 doujinshi and 2,000-3,000 images of Dead or Alive characters from circulation. The Dead or Alive series, known for its gameplay and attractive female characters often depicted in swimwear, inspires significant fan-created "adult" content. While appreciating fan art, the developers actively combat the proliferation of unauthorized material.
