Delta Force Mobile Now Available for Pre-Order
Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now accepting pre-registrations for iOS and Android devices. This relaunch by Level Infinite, a Tencent subsidiary, aims to revitalize the classic military shooter franchise, blending diverse missions and tactical gameplay. The game's anticipated launch is slated for late January 2025.
While the Delta Force series may be unfamiliar to some, it holds a significant place in FPS history, predating even Call of Duty. Known for its realistic combat, advanced gadgets, and authentic weaponry, the series draws inspiration from the renowned US military special forces unit.
Tencent's revival features Warfare mode (large-scale battles reminiscent of Battlefield) and Operations mode (extraction-focused gameplay). A single-player campaign, heavily inspired by the 2001 film Black Hawk Down and the Battle of Mogadishu, is also planned for 2025.
Addressing Cheating Concerns
Despite high anticipation, Delta Force has faced controversy regarding its approach to combating cheaters. Tencent's aggressive anti-cheat measures, implemented via G.T.I. Security, have drawn criticism for their perceived overreach. While these concerns may be less pronounced on mobile platforms, they've already impacted some players' interest. However, the reduced likelihood of cheating on mobile could still lead to a successful launch.
