Deltarune Switch 2 Features
Special Room and More Exclusively for Switch 2
Deltarune is gearing up for a spectacular launch on the Nintendo Switch 2, as revealed during the latest Nintendo Direct on April 2. This new version will not only include Chapters 3 and 4 but also boast exclusive features tailored for the next-gen console.
According to a newsletter from Fangamer by Deltarune's creator, Toby Fox, the Switch 2 version will feature a unique "SPECIAL ROOM." This room will leverage the innovative mouse functionality of the new Joy-Cons, allowing players to use mouse controls on two controllers simultaneously—a feature exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2! Fox excitedly shared, "So, we made a very small SPECIAL ROOM which takes advantage of using MOUSE CONTROLS ON TWO CONTROLLERS AT ONCE, only possible on the Nintendo Switch 2!!"
For those playing on other devices, the SPECIAL ROOM will still be accessible, but with an alternative control scheme. Additionally, players can seamlessly import their save files from the Nintendo Switch demo of Deltarune Chapters 1 and 2 to the new version, ensuring a smooth transition.
Deltarune Future Chapters Will Be Free
Toby Fox has also shed light on the pricing model for Deltarune. The game will be available for $24.99 and will include Chapters 1 through 4. Initially released in 2018 and 2021, Chapters 1 and 2 were offered for free, with the announcement that Chapters 3-5 would be paid content.
However, in a delightful twist for fans, Fox has confirmed that all future chapters will be added as free updates. This means that after purchasing the game once, players will enjoy all subsequent chapters at no extra cost. Fox expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "But, it's my hope that as we complete more Chapters, you'll feel like this game was a super super super super good deal."
Moreover, the game's soundtrack will be available on Steam for $14.99, featuring over 150 songs from Chapters 3 and 4. Future chapters will also see their songs added to the soundtrack for free, ensuring that players get maximum value for their investment.
DELTARUNE Chapters 1-4 are slated for release on June 5, 2025, coinciding with the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2. The game will be available across multiple platforms, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
