New Denpa Men Returns: Bizarre RPG Action on iOS, Android
The New Denpa Men, a unique creature-collecting RPG, is making its way back to mobile devices. Originally a fan favorite on the Nintendo 3DS, it later transitioned to the Nintendo Switch. Now, set to launch on iOS and Android on March 10th, this move could signal a potential global release, especially given Nintendo's recent focus on expanding its mobile gaming portfolio.
According to Gematsu, a reliable source for Japanese game launches, The New Denpa Men will retain its innovative use of augmented reality (AR), a feature that was a hallmark of the 3DS version. Players will once again be able to collect the quirky Denpa Men from their surroundings and engage them in dungeon battles.
The Denpa Men series, while not as mainstream as Mario or Zelda, has carved out a niche for itself on various Nintendo platforms. Developer Genius Sonority is no stranger to mobile gaming, having previously released the original version of New Denpa Men on mobile before its Switch remaster.
This rerelease of a mobile game, which was later remastered for the Switch, might seem a bit convoluted. However, it's an exciting development for fans, especially since the Switch version marked the franchise's first global launch. This could pave the way for a worldwide release on mobile platforms.
As Nintendo continues to explore mobile gaming, and with the anticipated release of the Switch Two, the lines between console and mobile gaming are blurring. Keep an eye on our updates, including our list of the top 25 best Nintendo Switch RPGs, as we continue to cover the evolving landscape of gaming across platforms.
