Digimon Story: Time Stranger Listing Leaks Before PlayStation Showcase

A new entry in the beloved Digimon franchise, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, appears to have been accidentally revealed through GameStop listings just hours before tonight’s PlayStation State of Play presentation.

Gematsu was quick to report and share the unexpected discovery, providing links to pre-order pages available for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. While no images or gameplay details are currently visible on the GameStop site, the sudden appearance of these listings suggests that an official announcement may be imminent.

Considering the timing, it's possible that Sony will reveal more about Digimon Story: Time Stranger during its upcoming State of Play stream. The presentation is set to feature around 40 minutes of content, leaving ample room for surprises. Given the proximity of the leak and the broadcast, fans are hopeful this could mark a major return for the franchise.

The Digimon Story series has deep roots, dating back to the Nintendo DS era with the original Digimon Story in the mid-2000s. Since then, the franchise has grown through multiple entries across various platforms, including the popular Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth (2015) and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory (2017). These titles were later bundled together in a Complete Edition released in 2019.

Traditionally, Digimon Story games immerse players in RPG-style adventures where they befriend and battle alongside digital monsters. Although franchise producer Kazumashu Habu teased the development of a new Story title back in 2022, fans have had to wait patiently for confirmation—until now.

In the meantime, Digimon Survive helped keep the franchise alive, but many are eager for a true sequel in the Story line. If Digimon Story: Time Stranger makes its debut soon, it could very well be the long-awaited continuation fans have been hoping for.
