Disney Mirrorverse Plans Service Sunset Later This Year
Disney Mirrorverse, the mobile action RPG featuring a unique blend of Disney and Pixar characters, is shutting down. Developer Kabam announced the End of Service (EOS) date as December 16th, 2024.
The game has already been removed from the Google Play Store, and all in-app purchases are disabled. Players have approximately three months remaining to enjoy the game before the servers are permanently closed.
A Look Back at Disney Mirrorverse
Launched in June 2022, Disney Mirrorverse offered players the chance to battle alongside reimagined Disney and Pixar heroes. Kabam recommends completing the final storyline before the game's closure.
Despite initial excitement, the game's two-year early access period and inconsistent content updates contributed to player attrition. The demanding shard collection system, requiring significant investment for character maximization, also proved challenging for many. However, the game's character designs and visuals were widely praised.
The Unexpected EOS Announcement
The EOS announcement is particularly surprising given the recent release of new story content and the addition of Cinderella as a playable character just one week prior. This isn't the first time Kabam has abruptly ended a game's service; Transformers: Forged to Fight and a Marvel Contest of Champions spin-off met similar fates.
