Dragon Age: Veilguard Surprise DLC: Free Weapon After Months
BioWare has largely shifted its focus away from Dragon Age: The Veilguard, but the dedicated team left behind managed to slip in a small DLC weapons pack for the game. Fans were taken aback when the RPG's Steam page was recently updated to feature free additional content in the form of the Rook’s Weapons Appearance Offer. While modest, it’s undeniably more than expected, given EA’s earlier indications that the game would receive minimal support moving forward. Its fifth patch, announced back in January, had emphasized primarily bug fixes, making this new content feel like quite the surprise—though admittedly, it’s not extensive.

There’s no official word on what exactly is included, though players have pieced together that it grants access to a set of Watchful-themed skins found in the Rook’s in-game room. It remains unclear whether the offer will extend to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S versions.
“Even if these appearances aren’t the most breathtaking,” one Steam review notes, “they still exude an eerie, otherworldly vibe.”
“It’s cosmetic DLC, but essentially free DLC for a game that’s mostly stopped receiving major updates,” a Redditor remarked. “That’s good enough for me.”
