EA Rejects Dead Space 4

EA's Lack of Interest in Dead Space 4: An Inside Look
Glen Schofield, the creator of the Dead Space franchise, recently revealed in an interview with Dan Allen Gaming that EA showed little enthusiasm for a fourth installment. Let's delve into the details.
Future of Dead Space Remains Uncertain
The possibility of Dead Space 4 is currently hanging in the balance. During the interview, Schofield, along with developers Christopher Stone and Bret Robbins, confirmed EA's rejection of their proposal for a new game. The conversation began when Stone recounted his son's love for Dead Space and his plea for a sequel, highlighting the continued fan demand.
The team attempted to pitch Dead Space 4 to EA earlier this year, but their proposal was swiftly dismissed. Schofield explained that EA's response was a polite but firm "no," citing their focus on established metrics and shipping schedules. Stone added that the current industry climate fosters risk aversion, particularly with older franchises.
Despite the success of the recent Dead Space remake (scoring an 89 on Metacritic and "Very Positive" reviews on Steam), EA's apprehension suggests that the remake's performance may not meet their internal benchmarks for greenlighting a new title.

However, the developers remain hopeful. Stone expressed confidence that a Dead Space 4 could happen eventually, a sentiment echoed by his colleagues. They possess numerous ideas and would eagerly return to the franchise. While currently working on separate projects in different studios, their passion for a future Dead Space entry remains strong. The possibility of a revival remains alive, though its timing remains uncertain.
