Elden Ring: Two New Classes for Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
Elden Ring is set to make its way to the Nintendo Switch 2 with the exciting new Tarnished Edition. FromSoftware's epic adventure is bringing a host of new features, including two new character classes and fresh appearances for the beloved steed, Torrent.
During the "FROMSOFTWARE GAMES EVENT Spring 2025" held in Tokyo on May 6, as reported by Famitsu, the developers unveiled some intriguing additions to Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition. Players can look forward to diving into the game with two new classes: the "Knight of Ides" and "Heavy Armored Knight." While details are sparse beyond their names and appearances, these classes will come with two of the four new armor sets exclusive to the Tarnished Edition, with the other two sets available to unlock in-game. Additionally, new weapons and skills were teased, promising even more ways to explore and conquer the vast world of Elden Ring.
For fans of Torrent, the spirit horse, there's good news too. Torrent will receive three new looks, adding a personal touch to your journey. These enhancements, along with the Shadow of the Erdtree content, will be part of the Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition. However, FromSoftware has confirmed that these new features will also be available on other platforms through the Tarnished Pack DLC, which will be offered at a low price, according to RPG Site.
The introduction of new classes is a clever move, especially considering many players might start fresh on the Switch 2 and appreciate the chance to experiment with different playstyles. For those who have already immersed themselves in Elden Ring on other platforms, the additional content could provide a refreshing twist to their experience.
Elden Ring has achieved monumental success, surpassing 30 million sales worldwide. This incredible milestone underscores the game's widespread appeal, and its arrival on the Switch 2 is likely to boost those numbers even further.
While specific release dates for Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on the Switch 2 and the Tarnished Pack DLC are yet to be announced, both are slated to launch sometime in 2025. Keep an eye out for more details as we approach the release date.
