Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test: Three-Hour Daily Limit

The upcoming Elden Ring Nightreign network test will impose a three-hour daily playtime restriction, running from February 14th to 17th. This limited access will be exclusive to Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 players. Applications are currently open via the official FromSoftware website.

Following the phenomenal success of Elden Ring in 2022, the announcement of Nightreign generated significant excitement. While initially, developers stated there were no plans for a sequel or further DLC beyond the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, Nightreign's surprise reveal at The Game Awards 2024 ignited anticipation.

This network test, described as a preliminary verification to assess online systems and conduct large-scale network load tests, will offer a sneak peek at a portion of the game. The three-hour daily limit will likely disappoint players hoping for extended gameplay. PC players are excluded from this initial test, with PC compatibility slated for the full game release.

Nightreign represents a departure for FromSoftware, prioritizing co-op gameplay and incorporating roguelike elements such as randomized encounters. While a release date remains unannounced, the network test suggests a full launch is imminent. The limited-time test provides valuable data for FromSoftware while offering a tantalizing preview of this highly anticipated spin-off.
