Feral Interactive Releases Imperium Update for ROME: Total War
If you're a fan of the classic strategy game ROME: Total War on Android, you're in for a treat. Feral Interactive has just released the massive Imperium Update, bringing a host of gameplay tweaks, control improvements, and quality-of-life enhancements to enhance your gaming experience. This update, which hit Android in 2018, is set to roll out to the standalone expansions Barbarian Invasion and Alexander next week.
What Does the Imperium Update Bring to ROME: Total War?
The Imperium Update integrates some of the best features from Feral’s more recent mobile titles, such as Total War: MEDIEVAL II and EMPIRE. Players can now enjoy three new control options: Positioning Mode, Melee Mode, and Automatic Deselection. These new modes provide enhanced command over units, making battles more precise and enjoyable. With the update, you can simply tap and hold to move your army, agents, or fleets, eliminating the need to manually drag paths.
The Positioning Mode allows for fine-tuning unit placements with a simple tap and hold action. The Group Grid feature simplifies managing unit groups through a collapsible selection menu. Meanwhile, Melee Mode enables ranged units to seamlessly switch to close combat when the situation demands.
One of the most significant enhancements is the Command Slowdown feature, which automatically slows the game when issuing complex orders, giving you more time to strategize. Additionally, for the first time, keyboard and mouse support has been introduced for Android and iPad users, offering a more familiar control scheme.
The minimap in ROME: Total War has also been revamped to resemble the one in MEDIEVAL II, featuring smoother zooming and navigation. A new reset button allows you to quickly revert to the default view, enhancing usability.
The Imperium Update is already available for download on the Google Play Store for those who own ROME: Total War on Android. Keep an eye out for the updates to Barbarian Invasion and Alexander coming next week, and don't miss out on these exciting enhancements.
