FF16 PC Port Fails to Maximize RTX 4090 Performance
The recent release of Final Fantasy 16 on PC and its update for the PS5 have been overshadowed by numerous performance issues and glitches. Dive into the details below to understand the specific challenges faced by the game on both platforms.
FF16 PC Port Struggles with Performance, While PS5 Version Encounters Graphical Glitches
FF16 PC Struggles with Performance, Even on High-End Hardware
Just yesterday, Final Fantasy 16's producer, Naoki Yoshida, made a polite request to the community to avoid creating "offensive or inappropriate" mods for the PC version. However, the real concern for many players is the game's demanding performance requirements. Despite the excitement surrounding the possibility of playing Final Fantasy 16 at 4K resolution and 60 fps on PC, recent benchmarks suggest that achieving this might be elusive, even with the powerful NVIDIA RTX 4090 graphics card.
According to John Papadopoulos of DSOGaming, maintaining a stable 60 fps at native 4K resolution with all settings maxed out is proving to be a significant challenge for the game. This is unexpected, given that the RTX 4090 is considered one of the most potent consumer graphics cards available.
However, there's a silver lining for PC gamers. Utilizing DLSS 3 Frame Generation along with DLAA can reportedly push frame rates consistently above 80 fps. DLSS 3 leverages NVIDIA's AI technology to generate additional frames, enhancing gameplay fluidity. Meanwhile, DLAA improves image quality with less performance impact compared to traditional anti-aliasing methods.
Final Fantasy 16 initially launched on the PlayStation 5 over a year ago and finally made its way to PC on September 17. The Complete Edition includes the base game along with the two story expansions, Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide. Before jumping into the game, it's crucial to verify your system's specifications against the recommended requirements to ensure a smooth gaming experience. Check out the tables below for the game's minimum and recommended specs!
